Inspiring Messages

...The young boy shakes uncomfortably in his chair, his eyes dart back and forth around the room. I wonder if he knows what is going on around him. His arm reaches out as he clumsily grabs a nearby prayer book. He begins to turn the pages; the haphazard motion crumples them as he goes, until he stops and once again glances to and fro. I can’t help but notice he has opened the Siddur up to Sh’ma. I wonder if he even knows what that prayer is.

This coming Sunday, Tes Adar, dozens of Shluchim’s children in various time zones will gather to sing Niggunim, hear a Chassisidishe Maaseh, say L'chaim (on grape juice) and rededicate themselves to their missions as soldiers in Tzivos Hashem. All this, via conference call.
...Rabbi Beryl Frankel, Director of Merkos Suite 302 in which MyShliach is housed, takes special pride in the program. “Thanks to our terrific squad leaders, the program has taken off.” Indeed, the program has doubled in each of its four months.

Personal Interest

...Take the Pink family in Leicester, England. Located two hours north of London, the streets of this town are lined with Asian immigrants. The small Jewish community, led by Rabbi Shmuli Pink, is predominantly elderly. It’s no surprise, then, that the Pink children are the only young Lubavitchers around.
…“My kids now feel a tremendous sense of self pride,” says Pink. “At our Shabbos table, a young boy once told of the many medals he had won in swimming competitions. My son Avremi suddenly disappeared, only to return moments later with his Hachayol medals. ‘Look’ he announced. ‘Do you want to see medals? Here are my medals!’”
